Model Catalogue

Model Catalogue

Model Catalogue

This is a file auditing, management and model version control tool. It provides a structured archive for storing and retrieving IPM and field model data, allowing engineers to maintain a complete version history throughout a model’s lifecycle. The Model Catalogue Explorer offers a simple, intuitive interface similar to Windows Explorer.

The Model Catalogue gives engineers instant visibility into critical model information, including the latest model version, update history, changes made, and ownership responsibilities.

The Objective

The Model Catalogue provides a central repository for official production models and field data files, ensuring authorised users can access the latest production, reservoir and process models at any time. Organised within a structured hierarchical system, it enables teams to work from the most current approved versions for production analysis while maintaining complete version histories with user and date tracking for auditing and long-term field development. Models are created from a main model file and associated files, forming logical entities that automatically preserve every version throughout their lifecycle. It is particularly suited to environments where engineers manage multiple well, reservoir, surface and process models, allowing teams across multiple client machines to access and maintain a shared central model database.

The Overview

The Model Catalogue organises production models in a structured, hierarchical system, serving as a central repository for published models. It ensures teams always work from the latest approved versions while preserving a complete history of model evolution.

Model Structure

Models are created from a main model file and any associated files, forming logical entities within the catalogue. Once added, every version is automatically stored and retained, creating a complete record over the model lifecycle.

Ideal Use Case

The Model Catalogue is designed for environments where engineers manage multiple well, reservoir, surface or process models. It enables teams across multiple client machines to access and maintain a shared central repository of model data.

Model Management

Provide access to the correct model at any time, manage and audit updates, remain vendor-neutral, and preserve the underlying source information used to build models.

Principal Functionality

Track model and file changes with validity dates, manage file access and version control, support check-in/check-out and copying, control user permissions and security, integrate with external providers, and enable workflow-driven actions.

Key Facts

The Model Catalogue manages models and associated data in an organised way, allowing workflows to access up-to-date information instantly. Changes made by users or automated workflows are tracked for auditing and are immediately available across the system. It also operates as a standalone application used by organisations as a corporate file management system.
