Day 1

Introduction to Move

  • Data import
  • Working in simultaneous views
  • Analysing data: histograms, cross plots, stereo plots, SCAT
  • Export options and formats  

 
 Introduction to the basic concepts of 2D model building

Importing, conditioning and digitising your data

  • Importing and conditioning a map
  • Importing a section
  • Digitising surface data (map)
  • Importing wells, seismic data, and dips
  • Digitising cross section    

Constructing cross-sections

  • Preferred section orientation (analysis)
  • Section construction from surface data    

Introduction to the basic concepts of 3D model building

3D model building and conditioning

  • Importing sections, surface data, wells
  • 3D model building
  • Surface construction from 2D cross sections
  • 3D model construction from field geology and dip measurements
  • Thickness analysis, reconstructing eroded surfaces, fold construction

Day 2

Validating and balancing cross-sections using the 2D Kinematic Modelling Module

  • Restoration strategies: unfolding/block/move-on-fault restorations, back stripping and forward modelling.
  • Balancing and restoring sections: e.g. block restoration
  • Backstripping
  • Balancing and restoring sections using Move-on-fault algorithms
  • Forward modelling    

 

Day 3

3D model validation and balancing using the 3D Kinematic Modelling Module

  • Restoration strategies: block restoration, move-on-fault restoration, back stripping and forward modelling.
  • Algorithms and workflows for block restoration, tracker tool and area misfit
  • Balancing and restoring models using Move-on-fault algorithms

Fracture Modelling    

  • Statistical fracture modelling
  • Condition data for fracture modelling

  • Connectivity, porosity and permeability of a fracture network    

    

Sediment Modelling    

  • Forward and inverse modelling of turbidite flows
  • Input parameters for turbidite flow modelling
  • Forward and inverse modelling
  • Sensitivity of the sediment modelling to input parameters: analysing scenarios

Day 4
