Radioactive Waste Management
Uncertainty in the geological model presents a key risk in the storage and safe management of radioactive wastes.
Structural uncertainty – concerning, for example, the shape of horizons and the trajectory, kinematics of faults and fracture connectivity – can be identified using structural validation (“balancing”) techniques and scenario modelling applied in 2D (cross sections) and to 3D models.
