Midland Valley - the structural geology experts

Università di Trieste

Universita di Trieste joined the Academic Software Initative in February 2009, requesting 10 free licenses of Move to be utilised within their structural geology, field geology, hydrogeology and geophysics courses.  On renewal in 2011 they have taken the standard academic package of 20 licenses.

Last year the licenses were used for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate (PhD) teaching and within research projects.  Move was used specifically for Strucutral Geology and Seismic Interpretation training within the Master Degree course.

The main workflows used were improving interpretations of reflection seismic data, regional structural reconstruction of tectonic events and retro-deformations and using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data interpretation for analogue reservoir analysis and modelling.

In the first year of ASI membership the licenses were used for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate (PhD) teaching and within research projects.
