Kyoto University
Kyoto University in Japan has been a long term user of 2DMove and became members of our Academic Software Initiative (ASI) soon after its introduction in 2008 and recently upgraded to the Standard Academic Package of 20 licenses to sit on a computer network.
Two of the licenses have been used on a project which examines deep crustal deformation geometry in a back-arc basin of Japan. Since this basin is seismically active and also an oil-province, the Department has been working together with Earthquake Research Institute (ERI) of the University of Tokyo, and a Japanese petroleum exploration company.
The data includes surface geology and geologic cross-sections. 2DMove has been used for 2D reconstruction of a representative cross-section.
