The engineering story behind the new Integration Release

Many of you will have received the long awaited Integration release of 2DMove and 3DMove with the new 4DMove platform.

This has been a big project to allow models to be passed seamlessly between the different 2D and 3D tools and to provide the platform for our new technologies. Those users who have been attending our technology conferences will know that it has been an ambition for some time to pull the different, but complimentary toolsets and approaches, of the 2D and 3D worlds together in one whole.

It all works, and there are lots of new exciting workflows as a result which add significant value to the tool set. In recognition of this, and in response to the way our users are working with the software, we’ve repackaged the standard deliverables. Fully maintained clients will get these automatically, and those who have let their maintenance slip, will be able to take advantage of one of our “Upgrade” packages.

This release has been software bundled and shipped in the following way:

  • 2DMove shipped with 4DVista Performance as standard
  • 3DMove release includes Real Time Model Update (RTMU), Hydrocarbon Systems and Flexural Isostasy Modules and the 4DVista Performance.
  • The Fracture Modelling Module Version 5.  ***Release special offer price valid until June 2007.***
  • 4DVista Performance Version 2 includes the Geocellular visualiser and extensive third party software imports as standard and licences can be purchased separately from 2DMove and 3DMove.
  • 4DVista Essential remains as free
  • Non-maintained clients can upgrade to Version5 at special rates on application
  • Version 5 upgrade package for maintenance lapsed clients is available with a Returning Users Discount which is available for a limited time period, until June 2007.

We have made changes to our price structures to account for this, for a full updated price list please contact

We’ve also continued to evolve and add exciting developments to the toolsets of 2DMove and 3DMove so the applications haven’t been on hold either. In parallel we’ve had two other major engineering projects running; we’ve built the platform for our next generation of tools to utilise parallel processing and more complex data structures – you’ve already been using this as 4DVista.

We’re there now. With this release we’ve got what we know the structural project teams and users want.  By consolidating our software products, tools and workflows into a comprehensive integrated structural modelling suite, we have created faster and more effective modelling workflows cutting project lead times. Move directly across products at the click of a button with no data loss and cut down model building for certain projects by 80%.

For example, you can now take sections out of 3DMove and go directly to 2DMove with complete knowledge that your data, properties and coordinates are maintained. Alternatively, integrate and model in 2DMove with the added value of full 3D visualisation in 4DVista of all your objects. Incorporating the appropriate tools as and when you need them, data transfer issues between MVE products are a thing of the past

With the new tools and this integration, we are able to interact with extremely diverse data inputs using the constraints and analytical tools of structural geology in a way we have always wanted. This has made possible some of the recent advances such as the Real Time Model Update tools (RTMU) which allows the model to be updated in real time during drilling and for the model to retain its geological integrity and structural balance.
