Sequestration - CO2 and Rad-waste
The In Salah project has two distinct structural modelling phases. Phase 1 uses the kinematic modelling tools in Move to restore, test and validate the existing structural model in 3d, as well as considering alternative scenarios. Phase 2 will capture the strain attributes during the 3D restoration process. This information is then used to generate discrete fracture network (dfn) models based on our understanding of the structural evolution of the region. The fracture models are exported in a geocellular format ready for direct import into reservoir modelling packages for monitoring the long term integrity of the structure. Fracture scenarios and their predictions for CO2 mobility - highlight of our 2009 Technology Meeting.
