Colin's main role in Midland Valley is to plan the development team strategy and deliver leading and innovative Move software.
Colin originally joined Midland Valley in 1993 as a member of the 3DMove software development team. After a brief break working with Cambridge Animation as a Graphics Programmer Colin returned to Midland Valley in 1999 to be involved in a new development project concentrating on using Software Workflows to enhance and speed up complex Geological tasks. Colin's broad experience and keen interest in 3D Graphics in general has enabled him apply his knowledge to geological data in 3D visualisation for the oil and gas industry. He was key in the inception of the Midland Valley 4DMove project, as well as being part of the team coordinating and delivering last years landmark Move2008 MVE Product initiative.
He is involved in software design, build and deployment management on a day to day basis, but his role also takes into account the broader perspective of emerging IT trends, toolsets and the industry to make sure that Midland Valley's Move Software is proactive and accommodates the needs of our clients, both today and tomorrow.
He enjoys spending time with his family, especially during weekends away in his ageing VW camper parked up on a remote white coral northern Scottish beach!
